SIGHTS:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This two\u2010part exhibition highlights the recent work of photographer Michael Kolster in a solo exhibition, \u201cHome and Other Realms\u201d, in conversation with work from the Stephen K. Halpert Collection of Photography. An amalgam of three disnct series\u2014self\u2010portraits; architectural photographs of Lewiston\u2019s urban center; and photographs of the artist\u2019s son, Calvin, who has multiple disabilities\u2014\u201cHome and Other Realms\u201d touches on themes of the visualization of self; neurodiversity; and family connections & domesticity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibit includes text by Kolster\u2019s wife, writer Christy Shake, describing the challenges of caring for their non\u2010neurotypical child. The concurrent show of work from the Stephen K. Halpert Collection of Photography, including recent acquisitions, complements \u201cHome and Other Realms\u201d with a selection of photography organized by Curator of Photography Stephen Halpert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SOUNDS:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Under director Nina Anderson, the Southern Maine New Horizons Band welcomes musicians from the greater Portland area to share their love for instrumental scores in shared fellowship and public performances at venues throughout Southern Maine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
