{"id":380,"date":"2019-07-24T18:17:29","date_gmt":"2019-07-24T18:17:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/library.une.edu\/mwwc\/?page_id=380"},"modified":"2025-10-08T14:52:15","modified_gmt":"2025-10-08T18:52:15","slug":"creative-fellow-grants","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/library.une.edu\/mwwc\/home\/research-support\/creative-fellow-grants\/","title":{"rendered":"Creative Fellowship Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"intro\">Our creative fellowship program is intended for artists and writers to engage in research in our collections and to produce work inspired by time spent in the archives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MWWC Creative Fellowships range between $1,500 and $2,000, and may be used to compensate applicants for time spent away from other work, transportation, housing, supplies, and other research-related expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Apply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">APPLICATION GUIDELINES<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications should include the following. Only complete applications will be considered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Cover sheet with applicant\u2019s name, address, any institutional affiliation, email address, and telephone number.<\/li>\n\n<li>One-page application narrative that describes the intended project and addresses the following questions:<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>What materials in our collections would you like to explore?<\/li>\n<li>Why is being immersed in the archives essential to the work you propose?<\/li>\n<li>What do you hope to do during your time at the Maine Women Writers Collection?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<li>Length of proposed research visit to the MWWC<\/li>\n\n<li>Proposed budget.<\/li>\n\n<li>Work sample:<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>For artists: PDF of 10 recent images<\/li>\n<li>For writers: 10 pages of writing in PDF format<\/li>\n<li>Include professional website if applicable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<li>Curriculum vitae or resume of no more than three pages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications will be reviewed by an interdisciplinary panel of representatives from the MWWC and creative professionals.
