STUDY SPACES

The Biddeford Campus library features three floors of study space. The upper level is designated for silent study; collaborative study spaces are available on the main and lower levels. There is a mix of study tables, carrels, soft seating, adjustable-height and fixed standing-height study furniture.

Study space policies.

MEETING SPACES

The St. Francis Room is available for meetings, lectures, and events and contains video conference and presentation equipment, and a piano.

Book rooms at UNE.

The St. Francis room may be used as study space when available.

ART GALLERY SPACES

The Ketchum Art Gallery is located on the library main level and features rotating exhibits, soft seating for study, and can be reserved for meetings and events. The gallery is available as study space when not in use for events.

Maine Connection: The George and Barbara Bush Exhibit on the library main level can also be used for study.

STUDY ROOMS

There are 8 private and group study rooms in the library, available first come, first serve.

24/7 STUDY SPACE

The library lower level is available 24/7 and is equipped with a microwave, food and beverage vending machines, and cold filtered water. Use your UNE ID card at the Bush Center front entrance to access this space when the library is closed.

PRINTERS & COMPUTERS

PC and Macintosh computers, black & white printers, and a multi-function copy/scan/fax machine are available.

The 24 seat library computer lab can be reserved for library instruction classes.

FOOD & DRINK

Food and drink are allowed in library study spaces. The Windward Cafe in the library lower level serves Starbucks coffee, smoothies, sandwiches and more. Microwave, snack and beverage vending machines, and cold filtered water are available 24/7 on the library lower level. Hot and cold filtered water is available on the main level.

RESTROOMS

Accessible restrooms are available on all three library levels. All-gender restrooms are located on the main and upper levels.

The Portland Campus library features three floors of study space. Silent study space is located in the library lower level and upper level book stacks; collaborative study spaces are available on the main and upper levels. There is a mix of study tables, carrels, soft seating, and adjustable-height study furniture.

There are 7 private and group study rooms in the library, available first come, first serve.

24/7 STUDY SPACE

The 24/7 Study Lounge is located to the left of the library entrance and has two microwaves, snack and beverage vending machines, a refrigerator, hot and cold filtered water, PC computers, and a black and white printer. Use your UNE ID card at the library front entrance to access this space when the library is closed.

MAINE WOMEN WRITERS COLLECTION

The Maine Women Writers Collection is located in the Portland Campus library on the main floor.
