Exhibition Proposals

We welcome proposals for our exhibitions program. We consider content-based group shows with an academic focus and which highlight the institutional strengths and interests of UNE: earth, environmental, and social sciences, medicine, education, arts, and humanities.

The exhibitions program varies between the Portland Campus Gallery and the Gallery at the Ketchum Library in Biddeford. We encourage you to visit the sites before submitting proposals.

Our exhibitions calendar is planned well in advance. All proposals are reviewed by the director and discussed with the exhibitions committee.

Biddeford Campus Gallery

Group or solo show proposals are welcome; please make the academic link especially clear and explicit. The Ketchum Gallery is small but highly visible space located immediately to the left of the library main front entrance.

Portland Campus Gallery

The Portland Campus Gallery welcomes proposals for group shows only. The gallery can support exhibits with a broad scope, but should still have a link to academic interests at UNE. The Portland Campus Gallery is a small separate building with two levels.

Submit a Proposal

Proposals should include a clear outline and representative photos of work from all of the artists involved in your plan. We have a modest budget per show; please note any projected expenses associated with mounting the proposed exhibition. Please adhere to these guidelines — we will not be able to review or respond to proposals that do not fit these objectives. Our exhibitions calendar is limited, and the UNE exhibitions committee meets outside of a regular schedule; please allow at least several weeks for a response.

Please note: We do not manage or review proposals for the Campus Center exhibition area on the Biddeford campus.
