October 8, 2025

6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Biddeford Campus Art Gallery

Join us for a vibrant evening of art, conversation, and connection at the UNE Biddeford Campus Art Gallery! This interprofessional event brings together health professions students for a unique exploration of how visual art can deepen clinical observation and enhance medical understanding.

Featuring:

  • Sophie Hamacher, Artist & Filmmaker
  • Dr. Andrew Eisenhower, Cardiologist
  • Hilary Irons, UNE Gallery & Exhibitions Director
  • Cathleen Miller, M.A., M.L.S, UNE Archivist – leading a hands-on observation activity

We’ll dive into Piece of My Heart: A Laboratory, a powerful short film and multimedia installation by Hamacher that explores Takotsubo cardiomyopathy through an artistic lens, featuring Dr. Eisenhower. This is a rare opportunity to engage with cardiology and narrative medicine in a visually stunning, interdisciplinary setting.

Why come?

  • Mingle with peers across health professions
  • Enjoy drinks and snacks in a gallery setting
  • Sharpen your clinical observation skills through art
  • Participate in a guided activity designed to enhance perception
  • Earn credit toward your Interprofessional Honors Distinction (UNE students)

🎬 Pro Tip: Watch the short film ahead of time to get the most out of the experience!
