Chicago Style Guides

The documentation style recommended by the Chicago Manual of Style is widely used in the humanities and publishing.

The current 17th edition of the Chicago Manual of Style is available online.

Chicago Style provides two different ways to refer to sources in a text: the Author-Date System (AD) and the Notes-Bibliography System (NB). See your syllabus, assignment instructions, professor, or publisher for guidance on which system to use.
