Collection Scope and Content

This collection is comprised of correspondence from Mark H. Webb to his sisters, and typed copies of letters and poems from the War Department. From the correspondence, we surmise that one of his sisters worked for the War Department during World War I, and that the typed copies were saved from her time working there. The correspondence focuses on Webb’s
experience during his service, including the challenges he faced as a Jewish man, and day-to-day life on the front and in France. Included are records from Ancestry.com retrieved during collection processing to supplement biographical information about Webb.
