Biographical/Historical Note

Emma Eames was born in Shanghai, China in 1865 and raised in Portland and Bath, Maine. She was a successful soprano and sang opera in New York, Paris, London and elsewhere. She published her autobiography, Some Memories and Reflections, in 1927. She died in 1952 and was buried in Bath, Maine.
