Biographical/Historical Note

Minnie Bowden was born in Fairfield, Maine in 1915. She graduated from Waterville High School in 1932 and Gorham Normal School in 1934. She received a bachelor of education and a master of education from the University of Maine in 1938 and 1962. She taught in a number of towns in Maine and led workshops for teachers on the teaching of reading. Bowden attended many writing workshops and conferences, and her poetry appeared in a number of publications. She died in 2000.
