Collection Scope and Content

This collection consists of one promotional postcard for a performance by Chaison and others entitled “The Passion of the Hausfrau: An Illuminated Solo Comedy,” held at Freeport Factory Stage.

Biographical/Historical Note

Chaison published a graphic novel, The Passion of the Hausfrau: Motherhood Illuminated. The book sprang out of Chaison’s self-produced magazine, Hausfrau Muthah-Zine, which she began producing in 2003. She adapted the book into a one-woman comedy, performed by Bess Welden in 2011. Chaison also wrote the James Beard-award nominated Spice. Her stories and comics have appeared in Parent and Family, Motherwords, Sweet Dreams, and Creating a Marriage You’ll Love. She lives in Portland, Maine.
