Artificial Intelligence at UNE
Please help us learn more about how students are using AI at UNE. This survey is anonymous and should take about 5-10 minutes to complete. Your feedback will help inform university policies, resources, and support for AI initiatives. Learn more.
Library Services Artificial Intelligence Fellowship Project
This project is supported by UNE’s Center for Excellence in Teaching And Learning AI Fellowship program. The purpose of this program is to build a community of practice around the integration of AI into curricular design, teaching and learning, scholarship, and professional practice.
The objective of this project is to assess student perceptions, attitudes and experiences related to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in their education. This activity is intended to support internal program improvement and planning at the University of New England (UNE), including internal teaching supports, resources, and guidance related to AI use.
Who can participate?
Current UNE student and at least 18 years old.
What will I do?
Survey
If you choose to participate, you will complete a brief online survey about your experiences and perspectives on AI use in academic settings, as well as general demographic questions.
Participation is voluntary. You may skip any question and stop at any time by closing your browser. Your decision will not affect your grades, standing, or access to UNE services. Some questions may feel sensitive (for example, questions about academic integrity or AI use in coursework). There is also a small risk of loss of confidentiality whenever information is collected online.
This survey will not ask for your name, UNE PRN, or any other direct identifiers. Additionally, the survey has been configured to avoid collecting your IP address. Survey results will be summarized and shared in aggregate, and open-ended responses may be quoted anonymously.
Interview
At the end of the survey, you may optionally volunteer for a short follow-up interview to share more detailed perspectives.
You will have the option to provide your email address for us to contact you at the completion of the survey. Providing your email is optional. If you provide an email address, it will be collected separately from your survey responses to reduce the risk of linking your identity to your survey answers.
The interview may occur in person or via videoconference (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or similar). You may keep your camera off. No video will be recorded. With your permission, the interview will be audio recorded to support accurate transcription and analysis.
You may skip any question or stop at any time. A voice recording is inherently identifiable, and there is a small risk of loss of confidentiality. To reduce this risk, we will remove direct identifiers from transcripts and report results in summary form.
Audio will be used for transcription/quality review and then deleted when no longer needed for that purpose. De-identified transcripts may be retained for up to 3 years to support internal analysis and reporting.
You may not receive a direct benefit. Your input may help UNE improve internal supports and resources related to AI use in teaching and learning.
Results will be used for internal UNE program improvement. If results are shared outside UNE (for example, in a presentation describing UNE’s internal program improvement work), they will be presented in aggregate and without identifying information. De-identified quotes may be used.
Agreement to Participate
Survey: by completing the survey and clicking “Submit” you confirm that you are over the age of 18 and indicate your consent to participate.
Interview: Â If you volunteer for an interview, you will be asked separately whether you agree to audio recording before the interview begins.
