Borrow Library Materials
Current UNE students, faculty, employees, alumni and clinical affiliates can borrow unlimited books, DVDs, and other library items.

How to Borrow
In addition to scholarly and popular reading books, we also lend device chargers, DVDs, anatomical models, board games, tools, seasonal passes to Maine State Parks and the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and bicyles on the Portland Campus. See our list of available items:

Bring the library items you want to borrow to the front desk and show your UNE ID card. If you decide not to borrow something, please place it on a re-shelving cart or give to the front desk staff.

Library Account
Sign in to your library account to request items, see when materials are due, and renew online. Contact the access services librarian on your campus with any issues or questions.
Returns
You can return library items to either campus library at the front desk or using the book drops located outside the library front entrances. Interlibrary loan items may take a few days to record your return.
Renewals
Most items can be renewed if you need to keep them longer than the original due date. Log into your library account to renew. You can also ask at the library front desk, email, or call (207) 602-3000.
Holds
Use the “Hold for Me” button and pick up your title at the library front desk. If the title you want is not available, we will check it out to you once it has been returned. You can also borrow it from another library. If your title is at the other campus library, we will transfer to your campus within 2 business days.
We will send you an email when your items are ready to be picked up.
Interlibrary Loan
Request free copies of anything we don’t have in our library collections or subscriptions.
