Expanding Open Access at UNE

Publishing Open Access (OA) offers significant benefits, including increased visibility, broader access to research, and higher citation rates. We now support Read-and-Publish Agreements, which combine reading access and OA publishing under one contract, helping redirect funds toward open scholarship.

UNE’s Commitment to Open Access

We are a member of Lyrasis, a consortium that negotiates transformative agreements to support open-access publishing. These agreements promote community stewardship and reduce reliance on subscription-based journal access. These agreements remove the need for faculty to pay article processing charges (APCs) to publish open access.

UNE does not currently fund APCs, but you can include them in grants and utilize Read-and-Publish Agreements.
