The Sandra and Bernard Featherman University Archives

We are very excited to announce the creation of the Sandra and Bernard Featherman University Archives with a very generous gift from the family of President Sandra Featherman. The Featherman archives aims to preserve and document UNE’s rich and unique past as well as its continued evolution.

The Featherman Archives houses materials from UNE’s legacy institutions including Westbrook Seminary, Westbrook Junior College, Westbrook College, St. Francis High School and College, as well the University of New England and date from the 1830s to present day. The archives collects records that document the administration of the institution as well as the community created by students, faculty, and staff including university records; formal publications, such as yearbooks, course catalogs, student newspapers, and programs and promotional materials for various university events, such as commencement; newspaper articles; significant correspondences; and artifacts, such as jackets, hats, banners, personal memorabilia and scrapbooks.

The archives are open to the community. If you are interested in visiting the archives or working with an archivist to use archival materials in class please contact Cathleen Miller or Zachary Enright.
