Library Staff Updates

We welcome two new librarians to our staff and congratulate Sonya Durney on the completion of her Ph.D.!

Welcoming Ann Price

Ann Price is the new Access Services Librarian at Ketchum Library. Prior to coming to UNE, she was the Community Resources Coordinator at Portland Public Library. Ann has a Master of Library and Information Science (M.L.I.S.) from Simmons and a B.A. in Women & Gender Studies/English Literature from University of Colorado at Boulder. Ann will oversee the front desk and supervise student workers.

Welcoming Emily Connor Dafoe

Emily Connor Dafoe is the new Research and Teaching Librarian at Ketchum Library. Emily relocated from North Dakota, where she was Research and Instruction Librarian at Valley City State University. She has an M.L.I.S. from Western University and a B.A. in English Literature from Trent University, both in Canada. Emily will focus on undergraduate student success and will serve as liaison to numerous UG programs.

Congratulating Sonya Durney

Sonya Durney, Scholarly Communication Research and Teaching Librarian, was awarded her Ph.D. in Public Policy with a focus on Educational Leadership from the Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine. Her dissertation is titled “The Library Advocacy Gap: Increasing Librarians’ Political Self-Efficacy”; an excerpt was published in the June issue of the peer-reviewed journal The Political Librarian.
