Book challenges are no longer isolated disagreements over reading lists; they have become organized campaigns targeting public institutions, educators, and the freedom to read. Directed by Kim A. Snyder, the Emmy Award-winning documentary The Librarians tracks this surge from the Texas Krause List to school boards across the country, documenting the harassment faced by library workers and the communities pushing back.

Following the screening, Maine library leaders will examine how these national pressures intersect with our local communities, school districts, and legal frameworks.

Tickets are $10, $5 for UNE Students.
