Borrow Library Materials

We offer unlimited borrowing of books, DVDs, and other items to current UNE students, faculty, employees, alumni and clinical affiliates.

Library Account

Sign in to your library account with your UNE ID and password to request items, see when materials are due, and renew online. Contact the access services librarian on your campus with any issues or questions.

How to Borrow

Bring the library items you want to borrow to the front desk and show your UNE ID card. If you decide not to borrow something, please place it on a re-shelving cart or give to the front desk staff.

Some resources are available for use within the libraries and cannot be borrowed:

Returns

You can return library items to either campus library at the front desk or using the book drops located outside the library front entrances. Interlibrary loan items may take a few days to record your return.

Renewals

Most items can be renewed if you need to keep them longer than the original due date.  Log into your library account to renew. You can also ask at the library front desk, email, or call (207) 602-3000.

Holds

Use the “Hold for Me” button to request that any item be held for you at the library front desk.

If the title you want:

Has already been borrowed by someone else
We will check it out to you once it has been returned. You can also borrow a copy from another library.
Is at the other campus
We will transfer it to your campus within 2 business days

We will send you an email when your held items are ready to be picked up at the library front desk.

Interlibrary Loan

Request free copies of anything we don’t have in our library collections.
